The “TAMIL SANGAM, NEW PANVEL” was started in 1991 by about 15 likeminded Tamilians living in and around New Panvel area, for the purpose of doing cultural & social activities for the residents of New Panvel area in general and Tamilians in particular. This group started organizing social functions, arranging picnics, conducting health check-up camps for the poor and similar social work in the New Panvel Node of CIDCO.

As it was realized that by forming an Organization of the Tamilians , we can do more cultural & social activities, We formed the “TAMIL SANGAM, NEW PANVEL” in 1992 and duly registered it on 22/10/1993, vide Registration no. F 1831(RAIGAD) with the charity commissioner at Alibag.

We, “TAMIL SANGAM, NEW PANVEL”, a registered social organization operating in New Panvel for the last 23 years is having more than 300 members of all caste , creed and religion, are doing social services to all people in the society irrespective of their language, caste and creed. Since last so many years, We are regularly conducting eye check up camps, health check up camps Blood donation Camps etc, for the benefit of the poor and needy people of New Panvel& adjoining villages, apart from conducting Annual day functions, arranging picnics, debates, sports for our community etc., to name a few.
